Open up VLC media player.
In the Media Menu , hit the advanced open file .
In the Advanced open file , change the tab to Capture Device and in Capture mode , put it to Desktop .
Change the frame rate to 30 fps for optimal quality .
Using VLC Media Player to capture a screencast
VLC media player is the best on the planet and everyone knows about it but this is another one of the unknown stuff about it !
Open up VLC media player.
In the Media Menu , hit the advanced open file .
In the Advanced open file , change the tab to Capture Device and in Capture mode , put it to Desktop .
Change the frame rate to 30 fps for optimal quality .
and hit the Convert button instead of the play button .
Select the destination where you want the saved file to be and you have an youtube quality HD screencast.
